Different hair transplant methods:

There are several hair transplant methods; the two most common are follicular unit extraction (FUE) and strip surgery (FUT). FUE involves extracting hair follicles one by one from the donor area and implanting them in the recipient area. FUT involves removing a strip of scalp from the donor area, dividing the follicles and implanting them in the area to be treated.

The Sapphire FUE method:

Sapphire FUE is an FUE technique that uses sapphire blades to make the incisions in the recipient area. Sapphire is a very hard stone that allows particularly fine blades.

Why use Sapphire FUE:

• Precision: sapphire blades allow incisions sized to each follicle.
• Healing: clean incisions limit tissue trauma.
• Comfort: finer incisions contribute to comfort after the procedure.
• Hair direction: precise incisions allow each follicle to be placed at the natural angle of the hair.

The DHI (Direct Hair Implantation) method:

DHI uses a dedicated tool to implant follicles directly into the recipient area, without pre-made incisions. It gives control over the angle, depth and direction of each implant in order to follow the natural orientation of the hair. It also limits the time follicles spend outside the body.

The hair transplant process:

The process starts with a consultation with a doctor, who assesses your hair, discusses your expectations and suggests the approach suited to your situation. The procedure is performed under local anaesthesia. Once harvested, the follicles are carefully prepared and implanted in the target area. The duration depends on the number of grafts.

Your own hair as grafts:

The follicles come directly from the patient, which avoids the allergy or rejection risks associated with foreign material. They are taken from an area generally less prone to hair loss.

Recovery and follow-up:

After the transplant, it is normal to feel some discomfort and mild inflammation for a few days. Post-operative instructions from our team will guide you during recovery. Regrowth appears gradually over the months, and its progress is reviewed at follow-up appointments.
